Tomorrow Nights Speaker - Alteration!
Please note a change to tomorrow night’s speaker.
LDAS received an e-mail from Matt (Hon. Pres) apologising that he will not be able to talk to us tomorrow night.
He fell off his bike in Cambridge and has 3 broken ribs, he described it as a “very Cambridge accident” !
LDAS have wished him a swift recovery and will reschedule him when he is in less pain.
David Davies has come to the rescue and agreed to give us one of his talks: “A Star is Born” i.e., The life cycle of Stars
You will remember David’s recent excellent Apollo 13 talk so it’s still one not to miss despite Matt’s unfortunate accident.
Most of the society will all know David, an approachable and extremely knowledgeable astro imager who is always very willing to help fellow members advance their knowledge of astronomy.
Due to last months mix-up this meeting will be free of charge to all members, both physical and virtual, with zoom details available for free through MemberMoJo as usual. £3 for Guests (which is a bargain as well).
This meeting will be held at Standalone Farm.
Guests can attend two physical meetings in the year before having to pay membership.
Post-break period.
LDAS Presentation on our SeeStar’s
As you know we are now the proud owners of 1 S50 and 4 S30’s which are available to hire. Grant/Robin/David will give a complete rundown on the ‘scopes and how to get the best out of your robotic telescope (S50 and S30 models). This will be a very interactive tutorial on the SeeStar. If the weather holds we will set some up outside, if not Grant may be able to get us access to Spain, hopefully not cloudy!
If you would like to give a talk in the post tea/coffee break period, please let Norman know and he’ll schedule you in. Any astronomy topic that you fancy.
