Apollo13 - you’ve seen the film, but this is what happened!
David Davies
This talk has been compiled from NASA transcripts and audio records, illustrating how close the Apollo mission came to ending in disaster.
Cool heads, teamwork and leadership were key to the eventual success, but key individuals had the engineering insight to break out of the problem-solving rabbit hole they found themselves in.
Most of the society will all know David, an approachable and extremely knowledgeable astro imager who is always very willing to help fellow members advance their knowledge of astronomy. David has given many memorable talks to the society in the past and this one covers a time of crises for the Apollo program that also made a great film not to mention the music written by James Horner.
