£2

Dr Fabo Feng will be giving a talk on the ‘Oort cloud’.

Dr Fabo Feng is a postdoc research fellow working at the Center for Astrophysics Research at the University of Hertfordshire. He is currently working on detecting exoplanets with the radial velocity method. In 2015 Fabo got his PhD at the Max Plank institute for Astronomy (MPIA) in Germany. During his PhD, he have studied the evolution of the Oort cloud, the connection between the cometary impact rate and the solar motion in the Galaxy, and the influence of stellar encounters on the cometary flux. The Oort cloud is not only of academic interests, but also attract the public attention due to its close connection with the impact events on the Earth and the planet nine hypothesis. Fabo has a great enthusiasm for sharing his research experience and knowledge on this fantastic topic to promote the public interests in astronomy and science in general.
