LDAS Monthly Meeting – What Future for Britain’s Dark Skies

27 January 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Tonights talk will be given by Bob Mizon MBE. Bob heads the British Astronomical Association Commission for Dark Skies: the threat to our view of the stars from modern lighting and solutions to light pollution.

The British Astronomical Association (BAA) is the UK’s largest body representing the interests of all those – astronomers and non-astronomers – who appreciate the beauty of the night sky and value it as a natural resource. The starry sky is, unofficially but indubitably, a site of special scientific interest and an area of outstanding natural beauty: if it can be seen.

There will be a short break and then an astronomy news’s update from Gordon Ewen.

The event is free of charge to members of the society.
