Making Stars and Planets: The HOYS-CAPS Citizen Science Project

Dr Dirk Froebrich will speak on the subject of ‘HOYS CAPS’. The talk will give a brief overview of the star and planet formation process and detail the scientific goals of our citizen science project which monitors nearby young star clusters with amateur telescopes. We will show some of our recent results and explain how to participate in our research.

HOYS CAPS  is a citizen science project = Hunting Outbursting Young Stars with the Centre for Astrophysics and Planetary Sciences, at the University of Kent

There will also be society news, an astronomy update and refreshments will be served.
