Telescopes

My Telescope Doesn’t Work

Do you have a telescope? How often do you use it? Is it sitting in a box in the loft? Hopefully not! But whether it’s a simple refractor or an expensive instrument, the most useless telescope is one that isn’t being used. We have had a number of people tell us at our public events that “I have a telescope at home but I don’t really know how to use it”. This event was designed to do something about that.

Everyone is encouraged to bring scopes along to a special workshop where we explain the types of scope and how to use them. For example, we cover how an equatorial mount is set up and operated.

How to book

These workshops take place at the site of our observatory at The Standalone Farm Centre to the north-west of Letchworth, off Wilbury Road. Contact us for details.
