In the last couple of years we have fixed dates for star parties only to be disappointed by poor weather for most of them. This year we are going to try a different approach where we will go ahead according to the weather forecast. So, in March we have pencilled in March 23, and 30th. If the forecast is good 2-3 days in advance of the the first date we will go ahead. If the forecast is poor we will try for the 23rd, and so on. Watch the website and Facebook for developments. We think this approach will deliver a more successful outcome.
If you’ve never looked through a big telescope before now is your chance.
Don’t forget to dress warmly.
There is no charge for the event, but donations to LDAS would be gratefully accepted.
