I have been interested in astronomy for as long as I can remember. I remember having a small telescope when I was 10 years old and seeing the crescent phase of Venus, I think that got me hooked. I really got into observing and imaging about 8 years ago and now have an observatory which makes quick starts much easier!

I image the Sun and Deep Sky Objects (galaxies, nebulae etc) and the occasional comet. I am always struck by the fact that when we see or photograph these objects we aren’t seeing them as they are now; the light takes so long to reach us that we see them as they were in the past. The timeframe varies from 8 minutes for the Sun to millions of years for many galaxies. So really, nothing is quite what it seems!
